How to manage passwords in Mavim

Target audience

  • Administrators managing user access
  • Users who need to change or reset their password

Purpose

This article explains how to set, change, and remove passwords in Mavim to maintain secure access to your database.

Set a password

Passwords can be set by administrators for both administrators and users during account creation.
To set a password:
  1. Create the Administrator or User account.
  2. Enter a secure password during the setup process.

Change your password

Both users and administrators can change their own passwords.
Steps to change your password:
  1. Go to the Tools tab and select Change Password.
  2. In the new screen:
    • Enter your old password.
    • Enter your new password and confirm it.
  3. Click OK to save the new password.

Remove a password

If a user forgets their password, the Mavim administrator must remove it. After removal, the user can log in without a password and then set a new one.
Steps for administrators:
  1. Log in as an administrator.
  2. Go to the Administration tab and select Access Management.
  3. Choose the Users or Administrators tab.
  4. Select the account whose password you want to delete.
  5. Click Remove Password.
Optional:
You can set a temporary password after removal and share it with the user. Ask the user to change it immediately after logging in.

Important notes

  • Removing a password allows login without authentication until a new password is set.
  • Only administrators can remove or set passwords for other accounts.
