How to manage passwords in Mavim
Target audience

- Users who need to change or reset their password
Purpose
This article explains how to set, change, and remove passwords in Mavim to maintain secure access to your database.
Set a password
Passwords can be set by administrators for both administrators and users during account creation.
To set a password:
- Create the Administrator or User account.
- Enter a secure password during the setup process.
Change your password
Both users and administrators can change their own passwords.
Steps to change your password:
- Go to the Tools tab and select Change Password.
- In the new screen:
- Enter your old password.
- Enter your new password and confirm it.
- Click OK to save the new password.
Remove a password
If a user forgets their password, the Mavim administrator must remove it. After removal, the user can log in without a password and then set a new one.
Steps for administrators:
- Log in as an administrator.
- Go to the Administration tab and select Access Management.
- Choose the Users or Administrators tab.
- Select the account whose password you want to delete.
- Click Remove Password.
Optional:
You can set a temporary password after removal and share it with the user. Ask the user to change it immediately after logging in.

Important notes
- Removing a password allows login without authentication until a new password is set.
- Only administrators can remove or set passwords for other accounts.
