How to modify links to Dynamics screens

Target audience

Users who create, edit, or manage Dynamics 365 screen links in Mavim.

This article explains how to add, update, and remove links to Dynamics 365 screens through the Dynamics Connection Manager.

 

Key information / steps to include

Open the Dynamics Connection Manager

Users can open it in three ways:
  • In the ribbon, select Tools tab, Web section, External connections website, then Dynamics…
  • In the ribbon, select Edit tab, Couple topic with, then Dynamics…
  • Right‑click a Mavim topic, select Couple topic with, then Dynamics…

Add a new Dynamics screen link

  1. In the Dynamics Connection Manager, click New…
  2. A window opens.
  3. Enter:
    • A name for the Dynamics screen
    • The Form Name and Program Code (provided by a system administrator)
  4. Select the appropriate Dynamics 365 Server from the dropdown.
  5. Click OK.
  6. The new screen appears in the list.

Edit an existing Dynamics screen link

  1. Select a link in the list.
  2. Click Edit…
  3. Adjust the screen name.
  4. Change the Dynamics 365 Server if needed.
    • Note: the Program Code cannot be changed.
  5. Click OK.

Delete a Dynamics screen link

  1. Select a link in the list.
  2. Click Delete…
  3. The link is removed from the list.

Important notes / warnings / prerequisites

  • The Program Code for a Dynamics screen is fixed. It cannot be edited afterward.
  • Form Names and Program Codes must be provided by your Dynamics administrator.
  • Users need permission to access the Dynamics Connection Manager.
