How to rename a field in Mavim
Target audience:
Users managing fields in the Mavim Development environment.
Purpose:
Explain two ways to rename a field: using the Rename button or the Field Properties screen.
Prerequisites:
- Access to the Field Administration screen.
- Note: The Rename button is only available for fields that have not yet been assigned to a field set.
Ways to rename a field
There are two methods to rename a field:
Method 1: Using the Rename button
- In the list of fields on the left side of the screen, click Rename next to the field.
- Enter the new name and press Enter.
Method 2: Using the Field Properties screen
- From the list of fields (left or right panel), select the field you want to rename.
- In the lower section of the Field Administration screen, click the current field name to enable edit mode.
- You may see a confirmation message.
- Click OK.
- Change the name and press Enter.
Important notes:
- If the field is already assigned to a field set, you must use the Field Properties screen method.
- Renaming a field does not affect its data or relationships.
