How to use the Fields Usage screen to analyze field assignments

This article explains how to navigate the Fields Usage screen and interpret its sections to plan and manage fields effectively.
Steps to use the Fields Usage feature
- In Mavim Manager, go to the Administration tab on the ribbon.
- From the Administrative Tools section, select Fields Usage.
- When the screen appears, go to the top section and select the field you want to review.
Top section overview
The top section lists all fields in your database. The columns include:
- Name – The name of the field.
- Field Type – The type of the field.
- Set Count – The number of field sets the field belongs to.
- Topic Count – The number of topics the field is assigned to.
- Look at the bottom section of the screen:
- The left panel shows the field sets associated with the selected field.
- Select one of the field sets.
- The bottom right panel now displays the topics that have that field set assigned.
Why this matters
With this information, you can better plan and organize fields in your database, ensuring consistency and avoiding unnecessary duplication.
