How to use the SAP connection manager

Mavim users who need to create or manage couplings between Mavim topics and SAP transactions.

This article explains how to open the SAP connection manager and how to use its two view modes to create, edit, or remove couplings between topics and SAP transactions.

Opening the SAP connection manager
You can open the SAP connection manager in three ways:
- In the ribbon, select the Tools tab, go to the Web section, and select External connections website > SAP…
- In the ribbon, select the Edit tab, go to Couple topic with, and select SAP…
- Right click a topic in the Mavim tree, select Couple topic with, then choose SAP…
View options
The SAP connection manager offers two views. Use the Topic or Connection buttons in the top left to switch.
Topic view
- Mavim topics are shown on the left, SAP transactions on the right.
- The selected topic is the point of reference.
- You see which SAP transactions are linked to that topic.
- You can connect or disconnect the topic from multiple SAP transactions.

Connection view
- SAP transactions appear on the left, Mavim topics on the right.
- The selected SAP transaction is the point of reference.
- You see which Mavim topics are linked to that transaction.
- You can connect or disconnect the transaction from multiple topics.

Buttons available in both views
Both views include three buttons on the left side:
- New… Add a new SAP transaction.

Important notes
- You need edit rights in Mavim to manage SAP couplings.
- Deleting an SAP transaction also removes its couplings in all topics.
