If a relationship has a characteristic, it can be moved to another location separately from the relationship.
A characteristic always has a yellow handle when the relationship is selected:

To move the characteristic, follow these steps:
1. Hover the mouse over the yellow handle until the pointer turns to 
.
2. Click and drag the characteristic to the required location.
3. Drop it by releasing the mouse.
