Settings available on the Miscellaneous tab in Mavim

 

Target audience:

Mavim users and administrators who want to customize additional settings for Mavim Manager.

Purpose:

This article explains the options available on the Miscellaneous tab and how to configure them to suit your preferences.

Available settings on the Miscellaneous tab

1. Show error messages

Choose whether error messages are displayed.
 

2. Show Distribution Centre at database startup

Displays a report when the database opens, provided relevant transport databases are in the Distribution Centre directory and have not yet been used.

3. Show keywords window while coupling files

When coupling files, you can enter keywords to make files searchable on Rules websites. Choose whether this window appears during file coupling.

4. Ask what to do with comments when deleting a version

When deleting a version, a message appears asking whether comments linked to that version should also be deleted. Enable this option to show the message.
 

5. Show warning when deleting a version

Displays a warning that comments from websites based on this version can no longer be imported after deletion.
 

6. Show message when deleting a topic

If you previously disabled the confirmation message when deleting a topic, you can re-enable it here.
 

7. Enable deprecated functionality

Some features are flagged for deprecation and hidden by default. Use this option to temporarily enable them until they are permanently removed.
 

8. Display Manager and Visio on one screen

If you use multiple monitors, you can choose to open Mavim Manager and Visio on the same screen. When disabled, Visio opens maximized on your secondary monitor.
 

9. Optimize report data during version creation

Only needed if you also use Mavim iMprove. This option optimizes reports for use in Mavim iMprove.
 

10. Theme

Select a theme for Mavim Manager:
  • Colorful
  • Dark Gray
  • Black
  • White

11. Use icon set

Choose between the Standard or Classic icon set for displaying icons in the tree.
 

12. Tab position on main screen

Specify where tabs appear in Mavim screens: right, left, top, or bottom.

Important notes

  • Some settings require administrator privileges.
  • Changes take effect after clicking Apply.
  • Click Cancel to discard changes.
