Version Management - Couple Copy Data

You can couple copy an imported version (purple file cabinet) with your own compartment (yellow file cabinet): see Couple Copy Topic. This way you can use shared data without having to, but still being able to change it in your own database. You can add subtopics to the couple-copied data. Maintenance of the data is performed in the original database, and when you update the version your own additions remain intact.

Use the first version:

1. Import the first version: see Import Version.

2. Create a coupled copy in the yellow file cabinet: see Couple Copy Topic.

Receive a version update:

1. Import the updated version: see Import Version.

2. Check the contents of the newly imported version by comparing it to the previous version: see Compare Versions.

3. Update the couple-copied data if the new version is in agreement: see Check and Update Version.

Note: To receive an alert when a new update of an imported version is available, you can use the distribution centre: see Distribution Centre.

You must always have the latest update of an imported version that is couple-copied in the database. Older versions can be deleted: see Delete Version.
