Version Management - Use Imported Data
The data in an imported version (purple file cabinet, see Import Version) can be used in the database into which the version has been imported in several ways:
1. Data can be copied directly into the yellow file cabinet: Copy Data.
2. Data can be couple-copied in the yellow file cabinet: Couple Copy Data.
3. Relationships can be made from topics in the yellow file cabinet to topics in the purple file cabinets: Create Direct Relationships.
One time data use:
The first option (copy) is suitable if you just want to use the data once.
Periodic data use (by means of updates):
For the second option (Couple copy) and third option (create direct relationships) it is possible to update the imported version in the database. This way you can set up a subscription system for versions. A distribution centre can be used to support this subscription system: see Distribution Centre.
