Error when creating a version: how to resolve it
If you encounter an error message while creating a version, it usually means that the database needs maintenance. Mavim includes a self-correcting function that you can run regularly (for example, once a month or after every Mavim update). This article explains the steps to resolve the issue and successfully create a version.
Step 1: Empty the recycle bin
Any items deleted from the database through the yellow file cabinet remain in the recycle bin until you empty it.
-
In the database, right-click the Recycle Bin.
-
Select Empty recycle bin.
Step 2: Make sure all users are logged out
All users must close the database before you continue.
-
Right-click the black barrel icon Mavim database.
-
Select Properties.
-
Open the Connections tab to see which users are still logged in.
-
Ask those users to close the database.
Step 3: Run database check and repair
Once all users are logged out:
-
Restart Mavim.
-
Click the Database Manager button.
-
Select the database where the problem occurs.
-
From the menu, choose Check (and repair) the database.
-
When prompted, click Yes to start the check.
-
Run this action at least three times in a row, since some dependencies may require multiple passes to repair.
Step 4: Create the version again
After repairing the database:
-
Reopen the database.
-
Create the version again.
-
Publish the version to the portal.
