How to import existing BPMN charts into Mavim Manager
Mavim Manager does not support direct BPMN chart imports. However, you can convert an imported flow chart into a BPMN chart by following the steps below.
Step 1: Import the BPMN diagram as a flow chart
-
Import your BPMN diagram into Mavim as a Flow chart.
-
After import, Mavim creates topics that correspond to the diagram elements.
Step 2: Assign relationships to topics
-
Assign relationships to each topic that was created during the import.
-
Relationships represent the lane names in the original BPMN chart.
-
Ensure that these relationships are created under the Who category.
Step 3: Create a BPMN chart
-
On the element where the Flow chart is stored, create a new BPMN chart:
-
Go to Overview > BPMN 2.0 > Collaboration.
-
-
Select the entire BPMN pool.
-
Right-click and choose Convert to BPMN types.
-
Save your changes. This converts the shapes into BPMN-compliant types.
Step 4: Adjust shapes if needed
-
To change a specific shape type, right-click the shape and select the type you want.
-
Once the BPMN chart is complete, you can safely delete the Flow chart from the topic.
Notes
-
Direct import of BPMN files is not supported; this workaround is required.
-
Using relationships based on lane names ensures the BPMN diagram reflects the original swimlanes.
