Version Management - Introduction
Version management consists of all procedures necessary to work with versions. A version is a read-only selection of information taken from a database at a certain point in time (See Versions). To create a version, there must first be a Version Definition.
A version can be used for various reasons:
· To Exchange Data between Databases.
· To publish information: see Publication.
The exchange of versions between databases is supported by the Distribution Centre function.
It is possible to limit the exchange of information to specific databases by using Distribution Lists.
To easily track what has been changed in a yellow filing cabinet, you can add Revision Information to each topic. (See Revision Information).
