Why does a chart not update when I update a coupled copy?
When you update a coupled copy in Mavim, the chart in that coupled copy is not automatically updated. This behavior is expected because a chart (or report) is always unique to a process.
Why charts are not updated automatically
-
A chart belongs to a single process and is not “linked.”
-
When a coupled copy is created, the chart is copied along with the process, but there is no ongoing connection to the original.
-
If you add an extra process in the coupled copy, that new process must also be added to the chart, this will be done when you open the chart and save it.
-
The same rule applies to reports. Like charts, reports are also unique to each process.
Recommended approach
-
If you update a coupled copy, delete and rebuild the chart (or report) in the coupled copy.
-
Alternatively, consider creating charts only in the coupled copy, not in the original process.
-
Whenever you add new processes to a coupled copy, open the existing chart and save it to keep the chart consistent.
